UMID e-Card for GSIS Active Members & Pensioners

Unified Multi-Purpose ID
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will be having a new e-card called UMID which stands for Unified Multi-Purpose ID, and this will replace the existing GSIS e-card Plus. I will not bore you with the legal basis that the GSIS cited for having this new e-card, but I am going to inform you that the UMID e-card's primary purpose is to have a single ID card for all SSS, GSIS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG members. It is expected that the UMID card will soon be the only ID card that you will ever need to transact with the GSIS, SSS, Pag-IBIG and Philhealth.

Except for the VISA debit card feature, the new UMID e-Card will still carry with it the features of the current e-Card Plus, such as:
  • disbursement card used withdraw the proceeds of GSIS loans, claims or loans using any Megalink, Bancnet and Expressnet ATMs
  • personal ATM savings account that does not require any maintaining balance
  • debit card that can be used at any local establishment that uses a Megalink Point-of-Sale terminal
  • over the counter cash withdrawal from selected MLhuillier branches and PhilPost offices nationwide
  • online payment of bills through e-payment facilities of partner banks of GSIS
  • hospitalization discount card that gives you and your dependents up to 50% discounts from partner hospitals thru the GSIS Hospitalization Support Program (GHSP)
  • medicine discount card that gives you as much as 55% discount on Pfizer-manufactured medicines
  • education discount card that gives you 20% scholarship grant on tuition and laboratory fees at all STI branches nationwide
The enrollment for the UMID e-card is now on-going at the GSIS Head Office in Pasay City and at selected GSIS Regional Offices.

Pensioners, on the other hand, may enroll for the UMID e-Card upon renewal of their active status during their birth month. The renewal of the active status is necessary to ensure the disbursement of their monthly pension.

Sir:

Good day!

I am requesting for the progress of the application of pension of my father, CRISOSTOMO P. CAIDO, who applied for retirement last January 27, 2005 through a 5-year lump sum conditions.

Hence, his resumption of pension would have resumed last January 27, 2010. Until now, he has not received such resumption of pension despite of repeated follow-up of his application of the same at the Bohol GSIS Branch Office.

He belongs to the Division of Bohol, who had been teaching Guinacot National High School, Guindulman, Bohol.

Your appropriate action is hereby highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Respectfully yours,

MELCRIS A. CAIDO
