Beating Deadline Before Christmas

With just a few hours away before Christmas I am almost done preparing the food that will be served on our table for Noche Buena. Our pasta is already in the oven and this means that I now have the time to spend online. I have been longing to finish all pending online work since yesterday but I have been so busy with Christmas preparations and last minute shopping so I am now trying to make up for lost time and finish everything before our Christmas dinner. Of course I would not want to spend Christmas Day beating deadlines that’s why I only have until tonight and I have to for fast.

Luckily, December 27 was declared a non-working holiday so I have two more days before I go back to the real world and bury myself to the boring tons of paper works waiting for me at the office. During my extra two days, I really intend to focus on my blogs and try to find a web hosting provider. I have been meaning to find one but I find web hosting a little complicated. In fact, I still have very limited knowledge on shared, VPS and dedicated web hosting so I really need to do more research on this. I am planning to read in-depth web hosting provider reviews to help me decide which one is the cheapest and most reliable.

For now, let us enjoy this very special day with family and friends. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Mom's Coins

I was trying to clear my laptop of old files when I came across our wedding photos and I saw the picture of our wedding arras. We borrowed my Mom’s collection of old coins for our wedding in line with the cliché “something old”. Although I know that those coins now have a higher value as compared to its face value, I am not sure just how valuable those coins are so I tried searching the 1907 Philippine coins on Ebay and found out that those coins are being sold for just Php266.70 to Php1,500.00. Honestly, it was a little disappointing because I was expecting its value will be more than that. Well, I was not expecting that my Mom’s collection would be as valuable as the ms70 gold eagle but I wasn’t also expecting that a 1907 coin can be sold for just barely Php300.00.

As of this moment I am really clueless on how vintage coins are being valued and when my time permits, I plan to do a little research on this just to educate myself.

Sports Betting

I remember back in college when almost everyone at school was so crazy with Philippine Basketball and basketball betting was very rampant among students. Some would go for the Ginebra team, while others would bet in favor of their opponent. Now with everything being done through the use of the internet, basketball betting is now available online. In fact, I saw a site that offers online sports betting and one can choose from Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey, to Soccer betting. Personally, I find sports betting quite interesting and I imagine that it could really be fun, well provided that you limit yourself with how much you’re will to spend on bets.

What's To Look Forward To?

I am facing a major challenge before the year ends and it has something to do with personnel movement. After being one of the resident auditors in one particular agency for 10 years, it’s now my turn to move on to another audit assignment. Honestly, I find it a bit hard to say farewell to the office that has been my second home and to the people that has been my second family.

What makes it more difficult for me to adjust is the fact that I will be the only team member and unlike in most audit teams wherein there are usually 3 to 4 audit team members, I am bound to do most of the audit work and all the clerical work as well. As of this moment, I still have no idea how I’ll be able to manage to finish everything in just 40 hours per week. Now, I’m trying to look on document management because I have read somewhere that it will be able to somehow help me manage all the tasks that I am bound to accomplish.

I am a little bit on the down side and I am not so sure if there’s anything positive to look forward to in 2011.

Louis Vuitton & Gucci Bag Giveaway!!!

Gucci LV Bags
I have been thinking of getting myself a signature handbag for quite sometime but practicality dictates that it will be a waste of money to spend so much on a single bag especially now that we will be having a new baby...a Chevy Cruze! :) That would mean that we really have to have every penny for the car's monthly amortization and any luxury item will have to take the back seat for the next five years.

Knowing that we don't have any extra to spare on a designer bag, I was so happy to find out that Louis Vuitton o Gucci bags will be given away by Chic Mom's Club! Actually, mechanics are quite simple and the first thing that you have to do is to register here, fill up the form, inform your friends of the chance to be one of the five owners of a new LV or Gucci bag for free and ask them to register through your referral link. The top 5 Chic Moms with the most number of referrals by March 12, 2011 will get a new LV or Gucci bag.

It's so easy to join and have the opportunity for a post Christmas present! :)

Home Selling is Like a Beauty Contest

Have you ever tried walking around a neighborhood in Arizona? If yes, then you have probably noticed how beautiful and elegant the houses are. The houses lined up along the state of Arizona are evidences of great taste and architectural superiority. If it happened that you have some houses to sell in Arizona and don’t know what to do to keep up with the “beauty contest,” read on.

Since the competition is tough in Arizona home selling industry, you need to keep with style. You have to make your house as beautiful as other houses for sale. Learn how to play dress up. You have to know how to make your house presentable enough to be acceptable in the buyer’s market. After this, you’ll start to sell homes in AZ like a true professional home seller.

Make your house beautiful inside and out. Do not neglect your lawn as this will surely make a great impact to your house. Consider hiring a good landscape architect to pull a nice look of your house from the outside. Adding some exterior lighting would also increase the overall “buy me” appeal of your house.
After finishing the exterior, go over the house interior. It’s worth cleaning all the tiles, polishing the floors and shampooing the carpet. Also, give your house a new burst of color with a fresh coat of paint. Do not forget as well to clean the attic and basement which are among the most neglected parts of a house.
Since house selling in Arizona is like a beauty contest, you need to put some extra efforts to make your house look striking.

Against Identity Theft

I frequently read from Facebook’s status updates that their accounts have been hacked and I often receive new friend requests for their new account. From time to time I would also get weird email messages from friends and when I asked them about the kind messages that they have sent, they would all say that those messages were not from them. Honestly, I cannot believe that people are resulting to identity fraud to enrich themselves at the expense of other and it’s so sad that some people that I personally are suffering from identity theft.

We really need to have an identity theft protection considering that most of our transactions are conveniently done online. I can only imagine how hard it will be to have someone stole my identity or have my online accounts hacked. In my desire to have my identity protected, I stumbled upon IdentityHawk.com. I have learned that once you’re a member, you will not only be able to check the over-all health of your identity protection but you’ll also be able to identity the areas where your identity is at risk, thereby, allowing you to take preventing actions to reduce those risks.

With the threat of identity theft, I believe that it is worth joining IdentityHawk to protect our accounts and prevent identity fraud.

Praying for Her Safety

The power of modern technology through the famous Skype has allowed me to chat for hours with my friend before she leaves for San Diego to attend a business meeting. She’s really lucky to have landed at a good job abroad and her job allows her to travel to different parts of the US. Being the frugal lady that she is, she’s saving a large portion of her earnings for her family here in the Philippines and has been depending on her 1999 Ford F-150 to take her safely to her destinations. Considering that her truck is now considered to be fully depreciated, she makes sure that she visits her local auto shop for regular auto maintenance. However, it looks like her best buddy wanted to retire already because while we were talking, she confided that she’s worried because her check engine light flickered while she was on her way from the office and she doesn’t have the time to have it checked at her local auto shop because she’s leaving very early the following morning.

Now I worry for her safety and wish that she did not have any trouble on the road. I as of this writing, I am still waiting for her to go online and I want to know if she was able to bring her vehicle in any of the San Diego auto repair that I searched for her.

Initial Info on Lipofuze

I have been writing about weight loss and my desire to lose weight for countless times already and I never thought that one of my friends has been religiously following my blog. I came to learn that she’s one of my followers when she gave me a call last night and she was asking if I  know of an honest lipofuze review. She said that she had a friend who suggested this one for weight loss. I did a little research and on their website and found out that Lipofuze claims that it is has 6 patented ingredients and ingredients that are clinically proven such as green tea, capsaicin, synephrine HCL, and DHEA. The products is also said to provides long-term results and 100% natural safe.

I still have to gather more feedback on this product though, but just the same, I want to share what I have gathered so far.

Thinking of Compression Stockings

With just a few days before Christmas, I still haven’t bought anything for my aunt. I really wanted to give her something useful. Since she’s already in her early 70s and has a severe case of varicose veins, I am thinking of giving her a compression stockings much like the one my Dad has been using. You see, my Dad has an enlarged heart and he used to have a swollen leg so his doctor advised him to use compression stockings to have a good blood circulation. Now, I am trying to get extensive compression stockings information to find out if this type of stockings will also be beneficial to my aunt.

Saving for the New Baby

The hype of Black Friday and Cyber Monday is now over and I wonder if people were able to get a good deal on smart phones such as the htc desire android. Personally, I also want to own an android smart phone and I was particularly looking at the Samsung Galaxy. Unfortunately, luxury gadgets such as smart phones have to take the backseat since my husband and I have been thinking of getting a Chevrolet Cruze early next year. Actually, we have to temporarily give up all our “wants” and save for the monthly amortization of our new baby.

We were already approved by a bank for an auto-financing for a Mitsubishi Lancer but we are seriously considering the Chevy Cruze, mainly because its quite hard to resist its features and second, Chevrolet is offering a free PMS parts and labor for 2 years, 2 years free 24 hours road assistance, and free diagnostic check up for 5 years.

Oh well, sacrifices has to be made if we want to have something that we can proudly claim as the product of our own sweat and blood and it’s a sacrifice that my husband and I are happy to make. I just hope that we can afford this baby, otherwise, we will have to settle for the Lancer which is also okay.

Dreaming Bermuda

Finally after spending the weekend doing general house cleaning, it’s now time to relax and browse the web. I was visiting a few blog sites when I came across bermuda cruises and I can’t help but day dream as I was looking through the site. I wish that we are rich enough to hop on a cruise with my husband and see for ourselves the pink sand and the crystal clear water that Bermuda has to offer. After seeing the beauty and the white sand of Boracay, I am so intrigued with the pink tinged sand of this paradise.

I must remind myself to drop by a Lotto outlet tomorrow and pray that I win the first prize so we can be awfully rich and afford the cruise to this much coveted paradise! Oh well, there’s no harm in dreaming; but hey, dreams sometimes do come true! :)

Our Local Store Has Leveled Up!

This weekend was a very dirty weekend for the whole family. Yes, we were so full dirt and we had to do a major house cleaning as result of the major repair that has to be done in our house. We were so busy that we didn’t have the luxury of time to do our weekly grocery and I was hoping that our kitchen supplies will last until next week. Unfortunately, it was only as I was about to cook our breakfast that I learned that we were running short of Canola Oil. Since I do not have the time to spare to go to large supermarkets, I decided to make do with ordinary cooking oil from a local grocery store. When I arrived at our local store, I was expecting the old fashioned way of paying for my purchase which was usually computed using a piece paper from a cigarette pack. Since I haven’t been to this for quite some time, I was shocked to see that they have modernized and they now have counters using POS systems

Wow, it was really nice to that some establishments in our province are now comparable to those stores found in the Metro. I just hope that in time, our town will be one of those first class municipalities in our province.
