As I have mentioned in my other post, I am now using a company issued laptop at the office which is an Acer Aspire 5580. It was originally issued to my other officemate who has migrated to Australia and when she filed her resignation, the accountability to the laptop was transferred to me. Because the ratio of the computer at the office is 3:5, I used to bring my personal Acer Aspire 4736Z laptop at the office everyday so I could conveniently work without having to worry that my other officemates are waiting for their turn.
Of course I still prefer my Acer Aspire 4736Z because is runs on Pentium Dual-Core, 2.10 GHz and has 2.00GB RAM; while the Acer Aspire 5580 runs on Centrino Duo, 1.66 GHz and only has 248MB of RAM. However, having a company issued laptop is such a relief because I no longer have to carry my own laptop to and from the office. Carrying a laptop everyday can be so inconvenient considering its size and weight, not to mention the risk involved.
We are scheduled to make a conference call demo early next month because our supervisor will be out of the country for a couple of weeks and we need to have constant communication with her. She plans of having our regular meetings through the use of the internet and I hope that my official laptop won’t decide to not respond during an important meeting.
